A piece of greenery but also a lesson of history to make working the brain. There, you will see magnificent trees, witnesses of the history of this park inaugurated in July 1934 under the name of Albert 1st Place, in homage to the Belgian king. It is only in April 1968, with the planting of Bougainville’s bust in the park, that it took the name of the famous navigator. One of the main trees in the park is the breadfruit tree (‘Uru’), which fascinated the European discoverers when they noticed that only one braised fruit (‘Uru’) could feed a whole family.
