The memory of a “stainless” war leaded by some sailors. The closest canon to the Post Office belonged to the famous German privateer, the Seealder, commended by the Count Felix Von Luckner who distinguished himself during World War I by boarding 14 allied ships…without killing anybody! This privateer ship was a steely schooner with four masts of 1,600 tones and an 83 meters length. This peaceful styled sailboat was equipped with a 1200 HP engine and an important fitting out. Its end was less glorious because it vacantly beached in 1917 on the reef of the little atoll Mopelia.
